Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to assist in procedures aimed at analyzing, diagnosing, and treating the cardiovascular system. This role involves performing specialized imaging tasks, including angiography, complex vascular and non-vascular procedures, as well as neuro-interventional and therapeutic techniques, while providing support to the Radiologist or Physician Assistant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a minimum of 30% of Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) in a secondary modality to qualify for a Multiple Modality position.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing their medical history, positioning them appropriately, and preparing testing sites as needed.
  • Interpret, describe, and report test results, identifying any recording errors or artifacts and responding accordingly.
  • Ensure equipment, supplies, and the lab area are well-maintained, reporting any potential issues or malfunctions to the relevant personnel. Lock or tag out equipment when necessary.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized department.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications in accordance with the accepted scope of practice and relevant regulations.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, reporting any abnormal activity and suggesting updates to protocols as needed.
  • Adhere to radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with standards set by regulatory agencies.
  • May conduct point-of-care testing following established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a Cardiovascular or Radiology Technology program is required.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly stand and walk throughout the shift.
  • Frequent use of vision for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
  • Regularly engage in oral communication, utilizing hearing and speech.
  • Frequently distinguish body sounds and detect alarms or malfunctioning equipment through hearing.
  • Lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs regularly.
  • Occasionally lift or move objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Engage in reaching, gripping, and data entry tasks frequently.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
  • Rarely kneel or sit during work hours.
Work Schedule

This position operates on a Day Shift basis.

Employment Type

This is a regular employee position within the Interventional Radiology department, with a scheduled weekly commitment of 20 hours.
