Pharmacist Role – Sterile Compounding Expertise | Contract to Hire | Starke, FL
This position offers a unique combination of sterile compounding responsibilities and clinical pharmacy services within a dynamic infusion pharmacy setting. The role requires regulatory compliance and leadership while ensuring the highest standards of patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders accurately.
- Perform and oversee sterile compounding operations in strict adherence to USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
- Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations to ensure safety and efficacy.
- Review medication profiles for potential safety concerns including allergies, drug interactions, dosing accuracy, and compatibility.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Supervise and provide mentorship to pharmacy technicians and support staff.
- Maintain cleanroom standards, aseptic techniques, and conduct environmental monitoring.
- Engage in quality assurance activities, medication safety initiatives, audits, and continuous process improvement.
- Manage compounding, batching, quality control, and regulatory documentation.
- Assist with inventory control, including oversight of controlled substances and pharmacy operations.
- Support development and implementation of pharmacy policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Participate actively in staff meetings and professional conferences.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Minimum of one year experience with hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding, compliant with USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to oversee staff and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
