School Occupational Therapist - Des Plaines, Illinois

Step into a rewarding part-time role supporting the growth and success of K-8 students as an Occupational Therapist in a school-based setting. In this dynamic position, you'll collaborate across two to three campuses in the Lake County area, making a direct impact on students’ everyday lives and educational journeys. With a consistent schedule of approximately 20 hours per week (spread across two or three days), you’ll enjoy meaningful work with flexibility.

Your expertise will play a key part in helping students develop the skills they need to participate actively in the classroom and beyond. You’ll work with a diverse student population and supportive teams—all while contributing to positive outcomes in a vibrant school community.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field from an accredited university
• Valid Illinois licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist and registration with the Illinois Department of Financial Professional Regulations (IDFPR)
• At least three years of experience in the field, with a minimum of three years working in a school setting
• Strong ability to adapt to multiple school environments and collaborate with educators, families, and students
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality occupational therapy services for K-8 students, both individually and in groups
• Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement interventions tailored to each student’s needs
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure effective integration of therapy strategies in the classroom
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements
• Travel between campuses in the North Chicago/Waukegan area as needed
