Neurology Residency Program Director (M68181)
\nDepartment of Neurology - VCU Health - Richmond, VA
\nDepartment Summary: The mission of the Department of Neurology is to provide state of the art comprehensive patient centered neurological care for adults, perform translational and clinical research to further understanding of disease mechanisms and develop new treatments, and train the next generation of neurologists and clinical neuroscientists. Department faculty have a responsibility to provide service to their profession and our community.
\nDuties & Responsibilities:
\n\n Teaching - Faculty member will teach medical students and housestaff. They will be expected to participate in a series of formal conferences for the housestaff and students. They will attend weekly Grand Rounds and lecture upon occasion as requested.\n
\n\n \n
\n\n Research - The Division of General and Headache Neurology is engaged in clinical and translation research projects. The faculty member will be expected to participate in and, when appropriate, lead, clinical research and clinical trials.\n
\n\n \n
\n\n Service - Faculty member will serve on departmental, School of Medicine, and/or University committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field, e.g. reviewer, conference organizer, etc.\n
\n\n \n
\n\n Clinical - Primary clinical responsibilities include care of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings\n
\n\n \n
\nQualifications:
\nMinimum Qualifications
\n- \n
- MD/DO or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent) \n
- BC/BE in Neurology \n
- Successful completion of a neurology residency at an accredited institution \n
- Additional requirement as per the ACGME Common Core Requirements \n
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU \n
