Description

  • Support the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts, journals and reconciliations.
  • \n
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end close activities.
  • \n
  • Maintain key balance sheet and control accounts.
  • \n
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and audit requirements.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, charity regulations and internal financial controls.
  • \n
  • Complete and review bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • \n
  • Support cash flow monitoring and treasury activities.
  • \n
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
  • \n
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial systems and data.
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and financial reporting.
  • \n
  • Support the ongoing development and effective use of finance systems.
  • \n
  • Provide line management, coaching and support to direct reports.
  • \n
  • Review work, share knowledge and help develop a high-performing finance team
  • \n

Profile

\n
    \n
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACA or equivalent).
  • \n
  • Previous experience in a financial accounting role within a large organisation or charity.
  • \n
  • Experience of month-end and year-end processes, journal preparation, VAT returns, bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • \n
  • Experience of using and developing financial systems, processes and controls.
  • \n
  • Experience supervising or managing finance staff.
  • \n
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • \n
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n

Job Offer

  • Salary between £46,000 and £50,600, dependent on the level of experience.
  • \n
  • Access to a pension scheme.
