Backend Software Engineer

I'm currently supporting a global technology organisation that is looking to hire several Backend Software Engineers to join a newly formed team working on a greenfield insurance platform.This is an opportunity to join a highly scalable, product-led engineering environment where you'll be building new services from the ground up using modern cloud technologies.Contract DetailsInitial 6-month contract - high chance of extension£523 per day (Inside IR35)37.5 hours per week2 days per week onsite in ManchesterMultiple positions availableResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain backend services and APIsBuild insurance offer, eligibility and configuration capabilitiesIntegrate with a range of internal platforms and servicesTake ownership of services throughout the full development lifecycleImprove system scalability, reliability and performanceMonitor and optimise production systems through SLIs and SLOsInvestigate and resolve issues across customer-facing and internal systemsCollaborate with engineers, product teams and business stakeholdersContribute to technical design and architectural decision-makingRequirementsStrong commercial backend software engineering experienceExperience building scalable, high-volume distributed systemsStrong understanding of cloud-based development environmentsAbility to work independently and contribute within a collaborative teamExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsExperience working in modern product engineering organisationsIf this sounds appealing, send over your latest CV (Word preferred) and I'll be happy to discuss the details.
