Job summaryApplications are invited for the post of Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine working a 10 PA per week (plus on call) at the Colman Centre for Specialist Rehabilitation Services (CCSRS) based at Colman Hospital, Norwich. This incorporates a Level 1 neurorehabilitation service and serves the population of the East of England.This post is a substantive appointment and arises due to the retirement of the current post holder. The appointee will be based at Colman Hospital in Norwich. CCSRS is a dedicated interdisciplinary rehabilitation service providing post-acute rehabilitation for patients with complex needs. The service provides specialist rehabilitation through a 20 bedded inpatient unit for neurorehabilitation, and a 9 bedded inpatient unit for amputee rehabilitation. Out-patient/outreach services cover neurorehabilitation, tone management, amputee rehabilitation, post covid rehabilitation, specialised wheelchair services, electronic assistive technology and alternative and augmentative communication.This post provides an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and motivated doctor to join our enthusiastic and experienced multidisciplinary team. You are expected to take part in the delivery of a full range of rehabilitation services and support a wide range of professionals. Interview date 9th September 2026.Main duties of the jobThe main responsibilities of the post holder are predominantly the medical supervision and co-ordination of rehabilitation for people with disabilities resulting from neurological disorders from whatever cause. The appointee will be expected to work as an integral member of the well-established inter-disciplinary in-patient and out-patient teams.
