Job summaryApplications are invited for the post of Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine working a 10 PA per week (plus on call) at the Colman Centre for Specialist Rehabilitation Services (CCSRS) based at Colman Hospital, Norwich. This incorporates a Level 1 neurorehabilitation service and serves the population of the East of England.This post is a substantive appointment and arises due to the retirement of the current post holder. The appointee will be based at Colman Hospital in Norwich. CCSRS is a dedicated interdisciplinary rehabilitation service providing post-acute rehabilitation for patients with complex needs. The service provides specialist rehabilitation through a 20 bedded inpatient unit for neurorehabilitation, and a 9 bedded inpatient unit for amputee rehabilitation. Out-patient/outreach services cover neurorehabilitation, tone management, amputee rehabilitation, post covid rehabilitation, specialised wheelchair services, electronic assistive technology and alternative and augmentative communication.This post provides an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and motivated doctor to join our enthusiastic and experienced multidisciplinary team. You are expected to take part in the delivery of a full range of rehabilitation services and support a wide range of professionals. The post holder will have the opportunity to support, shape and drive service improvements.Applications must be completed on TRAC, closing date 15th August 2026. Interview date 9th September 2026.Main duties of the jobThe main responsibilities of the post holder are predominantly the medical supervision and co-ordination of rehabilitation for people with disabilities resulting from neurological disorders from whatever cause. The appointee will be expected to work as an integral member of the well-established inter-disciplinary in-patient and out-patient teams.
