We are seeking a dedicated Forest School Leader to lead safe, engaging, and inspiring sessions for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role involves providing high-quality outdoor learning experiences that promote confidence, independence, wellbeing, and practical life skills.

Day-to-day of the role:

    \n
  • Plan and deliver engaging Forest School sessions using the school's established outdoor learning programme.
  • \n
  • Adapt activities to meet the needs and abilities of individual pupils.
  • \n
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive outdoor learning environment.
  • \n
  • Promote confidence, resilience, teamwork, and independence through outdoor experiences.
  • \n
  • Support pupils in developing communication, emotional regulation, and practical life skills through meaningful activities.
  • \n
  • Encourage curiosity, exploration, and respect for the natural environment.
  • \n
  • Work closely with class teachers to understand pupils' individual needs and learning objectives.
  • \n
  • Provide verbal and written feedback following Forest School sessions.
  • \n
  • Carry out daily safety checks of the Forest School site and ensure the safe use of tools, fires, and outdoor equipment.
  • \n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

    \n
  • Level 3 Forest School Leader Qualification.
  • \n
  • PGCE
  • \n
  • Proven experience delivering Forest School or outdoor learning sessions, particularly with children and young people with SEND.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of safe tool use and fire management.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs.
  • \n
