Senior Buyer Location: Stockport, Greater ManchesterSalary: £45,000 £50,000 DOEJob Type: Permanent | Full-TimeSenior Buyer | Procurement | Supply Chain | Engineering | Manufacturing Are you an experienced Senior Buyer , Strategic Buyer or Procurement Specialist looking to take the next step in your career?We're recruiting for a commercially focused Senior Buyer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in the Stockport area.This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation where you'll play a key role in developing procurement strategies, strengthening supplier relationships and delivering commercial value across a high-value engineering supply chain.The Role As Senior Buyer, you'll be responsible for:Developing purchasing and commodity strategies for key materials and suppliers.Managing the full sourcing process, including RFQs, supplier selection and contract negotiations.Building long-term relationships with UK and international suppliers.Negotiating pricing, lead times and commercial agreements.Identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving supply chain performance.Monitoring supplier performance through KPIs and driving continuous improvement.Identifying and qualifying new suppliers to strengthen supply chain resilience.Working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and Programme teams to support operational requirements.Managing procurement activities using SAP or other ERP/MRP systems.Supporting business growth through supplier and market intelligence.About You To be successful, you'll have:Previous experience as a Senior Buyer , Strategic Buyer , Procurement Specialist or Commodity Buyer .A strong background within engineering, manufacturing or industrial environments.Experience in supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing.Excellent commercial negotiation skills.Knowledge of SAP or another ERP/MRP system.Strong analytical and communication skills.Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.CIPS qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous.Experience within defence, aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing environment would be beneficial but is not essential.What's on Offer? £45,000 £50,000 DOEPermanent full-time role.Opportunity to influence procurement strategy.Career progression within a growing engineering business.Collaborative and supportive working environment.Work with strategic suppliers across the UK and internationally.Company pension and additional employee benefits.If you're looking for a rewarding procurement role where you can make a real impact within a successful engineering business, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today for immediate consideration.TPBN1_UKTJ
