Assistant Estimator

Junior EstimatorSalary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annumHours: 40 hours per weekLocation: Office-basedHoliday: 28 days (including bank holidays)Role OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to support the estimating team in the preparation of accurate and timely costings. This role involves working closely with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure high-quality project delivery and commercially sound decision-making.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within estimating and gain exposure to contracts, supply chain management, and client engagement.Must have previous Joinery, Carpentry or Wood working experience to be considered for this positionKey Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation of project estimates and costing documentsReview enquiries, drawings and specifications to gather relevant informationSupport the management and assessment of incoming project enquiriesObtain quotations and pricing information from specialist suppliers and subcontractorsLearn to review contracts and identify potential commercial risksAssist with client meetings and presentations where requiredHelp prepare variations, cost reports and final accountsMaintain accurate records and estimating documentationWhat We Are Looking For:Strong organisational and administrative skillsExcellent attention to detailGood communication and interpersonal skillsConfidence working with numbers and technical informationAbility to read and interpret drawings and specifications (or willingness to learn)Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelA proactive and positive attitudeAn interest in construction, furniture making, architectural joinery or estimatingStreamline Search is a technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the United Kingdom.
