Dig Agent

DescriptionAs a digging agent/supervisor you will be responsible for supervising digging teams working as part of the United Utilities contract. Working to meet the needs of the client in the most cost-effective manner, whilst working with your team and making a profit for Network Plus. You will provide technical expertise, experience, and work within a team to deliver a first-class service to our customers.As a supervisor will be competent on working in Water Networks. You will be able to engineer solutions on site and focus your teams on completing work right first time.You will work with the scheduling team ensuring programmes are managed and delivered accordingly. You will provide support to ensure that the companys work is effectively completed through communication with internal and external customers, as well as the management of the business and client database systems.This role could be an excellent development opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career. Were happy to provide training and support for the right person who has the right attitude and transferable experience.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will have operational responsibility for the digging teams and their in-day activitiesYou will organise labour in the most cost-effective way, including recruitment, disciplinary action, wages, and absence managementYou will manage all other resources e.g., materials and plantYou will carry out team briefings with teams monthlyYou will coach and develop staff to reach their potential; ensuring a fair and consistent culture with the teamsYou will help manage the frame and cover programme and ensure KPIs are metYou will help manage the defect programme and ensure that KPIs are met, and Highway Meetings are attendedYou will use GARD (smartphone system) to check quality of the work and drive out the wrong behavioursYou will liaise with the Support Services and Street works Team to ensure that FPN and Section74 liabilities are managedYou will complete Team Inspections, to ensure a high level of Compliance with a real focus on quality and first-time reinstatementYou will be a Health & Safety Representative, which will include undertaking health & safety inspections in and around the workplace, raising health & safety related matters with management and investigating reportable accidents or incidents as and when they occurExperience and QualificationsRelevant qualifications in relation to the work being carried out i.e., NRWSA at supervisory levelGood Health and safety knowledge IOSH beneficial (not essential)Firm understanding of right first timeExcellent communication skillsFull UK driving licenceShea WaterEUSR Blue CardAvoidance of underground utilitiesSalary and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary based on experience along with a full benefits package.Network Plus is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
