Reed Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Behavioural Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Doncaster.

\n

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils who may present with challenging behaviour and have experienced adverse childhood experiences, trauma, or are currently looked after by the local authority. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and be passionate about helping vulnerable children succeed both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Provide targeted support to pupils experiencing behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.
  • \n
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with vulnerable children.
  • \n
  • Support children who may have experienced trauma, attachment difficulties, or adverse childhood experiences.
  • \n
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and individual support plans.
  • \n
  • Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, safeguarding leads and external agencies.
  • \n
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • \n
  • Support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis.
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Experience supporting vulnerable children, looked after children, or those who have experienced trauma.
  • \n
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations effectively.
  • \n
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in Teaching Assistant Practice, Childcare, Education, Health & Social Care, Youth Work or a related field.
  • \n
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • \n
  • A genuine passion for supporting children to overcome barriers to learning.
