This is an excellentopportunity for a qualified accountant to join a collaborative andforward-thinking finance team, playing a key role in financial control,reporting, forecasting, project support and business improvement. Workingclosely with senior stakeholders, you will help drive financial performance,support strategic decision-making and contribute to the continued success ofthe organisation.
\n Your new role
\n As FinancialController, you will support the delivery of accurate financial and managementaccounting information, ensuring the integrity of the ledger, maintainingrobust financial controls and assisting with month-end and year-end reportingprocesses. You will take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, cash flowreporting, treasury activities and audit support, while contributing tostatutory reporting, VAT returns and tax-related requirements. You will alsoplay an important role in forecasting and budgeting, providing financialinsight to support organisational planning and performance. In addition, youwill partner with project and operational teams, delivering financial analysis,project accounting support and budget management across a variety ofinitiatives.
\n The role offerssignificant exposure to senior management and board reporting, while alsoproviding opportunities to lead process improvements, enhance financial systemsand reporting capabilities, support funding claims and monitoring activities,and contribute to wider business initiatives. You will supervise and mentormembers of the finance team and act as a trusted finance partner across theorganisation.
\n What you'll need to succeed
\n To be successfulin this role, you will be a qualified ACCA or CA accountant with strongtechnical accounting knowledge and previous experience working within afinancial and management accounting environment. You will possess excellentorganisational skills, be capable of managing multiple priorities anddeadlines, and demonstrate the ability to work independently while remaining acollaborative and supportive team player.
\n You will haveexperience of financial reporting, forecasting, balance sheet management, auditprocesses and project accounting, alongside strong communication andstakeholder management skills. A proactive approach to problem-solving,continuous improvement and business partnering will be essential. Experiencewith Sage accounting software, together with excellent Excel and MicrosoftOffice skills, will be highly advantageous. Knowledge of charity accountingwould be beneficial but is not essential.
