The Role\n

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong maintenance professional with leadership experience to take responsibility for the reliability, safety and efficiency of plant machinery and equipment.

\n

The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day maintenance activities, lead a team of technicians and drive preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise maintenance activities across plant machinery and systems to minimise downtime.
  • \n
  • Lead and support a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training and supervision.
  • \n
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules in line with manufacturer recommendations and operational requirements.
  • \n
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical and automation faults using schematics, technical manuals and diagnostic equipment.
  • \n
  • Manage maintenance-related projects, including equipment upgrades, repairs and installations, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • \n
  • Oversee the use and optimisation of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) within automation and control systems.
  • \n
  • Analyse equipment performance and maintenance data to identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history and spare parts.
  • \n
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements.
  • \n
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and reliability across the manufacturing operation.

About You\n

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience managing or supervising maintenance teams within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • \n
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple maintenance requirements.
  • \n
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, schematics and automation controls.
  • \n
  • Practical experience working with PLCs and automated machinery.
  • \n
  • Strong mechanical knowledge combined with solid electrical experience.
  • \n
  • Experience implementing and managing preventative maintenance programmes.
  • \n
  • A proactive approach to fault finding, problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • \n
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • \n
  • Good written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and complete technical documentation.
  • \n
  • A relevant engineering or technical qualification is desirable.
  • \n
  • Management or project management qualifications would be advantageous.
