Job Title: Financial Controller Location: BlackburnSalary: 65k + BenefitsWe are seeking a technically qualified accountant looking to join a fast-paced, commercial environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge and a desire to develop within a high performing finance function. With a strong focus on financial controls, compliance and audit readiness, the role will be responsible for daily reviewing and monitoring internal processes and controls, ensuring they remain fully aligned with audit requirements and company standards. There are no direct reports, making this an ideal opportunity for a second time mover or an experienced industry based accountant looking to take ownership of the control environment and broaden their commercial exposure within an established international organisation.You’ll play a key role in supporting the Finance Director across a range of responsibilities including technical accounting, financial reporting, process improvement, and supporting strategic decision-making. This is a high-visibility role with genuine progression potential.Key Responsibilities:• Statutory Accounts• Leading audits monthly and quarterly• Act as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors during financial audits• Prepare technical accounting documentation to support accounting conclusions• Working closely with the group reporting team• Review and improve internal controls• Collaborate with cross-functional teams• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records• Financial reportingThe ideal candidate:• Qualified Accountant • Looking for you second move from practice or a side move from industry• Excellent communication skills, able to work across finance and non-finance stakeholders• Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is a bonus• A supportive environment for career developmentOur local Lancashire Axon Moore team recruit all accounting and finance roles from CFO to transactional finance on both a temporary and permanent basis.
