Materials & Sales Controller
\n Location: Plymouth (on-site)
\n Salary: £35,000 per annum
\n Employment Type: Permanent
\n Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours / 12 month fixed contract
\n Our client, a prominent business in the manufacturing and production industry, is seeking a Materials & Sales Controller to join their team in Plymouth. This role involves managing material and inventory requirements to support production demand while ensuring efficient communication across various functions. \n The Role
\n * Manage material and inventory requirement activities across the full range of production demand through day-to-day supplier liaison and co-ordinated cross-functional communications.
\n * Responsible for all manufacturing product demand against scheduled MRP-driven requirements.
\n * Analyse, co-ordinate, and confirm material availability and adjust deliveries as needed in accordance with production needs.
\n * Manage inventory through an agreed stocking and replenishment strategy.
\n * Manage schedule/purchase order change requirements to meet operational needs.
\n * Complete sales order entry tasks accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring customer requirements, pricing, delivery dates, and order details are correctly recorded in SAP.
\n * Liaise with internal and external sales teams to confirm order status, resolve order queries, and support clear communication of customer demand into materials and production planning.
\n * Participate in weekly team toolbox talks and follow up on actions/projects to meet deadlines set.
\n * Ensure the manager is made aware of any potential supply or customer issues and execute required actions in a timely manner.
\n * Maintain the timely availability of materials to support production and customer demand.
\n * Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and delivered in line with customer requirements.
\n * Manage inventory levels to balance operational requirements and stock investment.
\n * Support reliable supplier performance through effective communication and proactive issue resolution.
\n * Maintain accurate and timely information within SAP for orders, inventory, and purchasing activities.
\n * Facilitate effective communication between sales, operations, production planning, and suppliers.
\n * Identify risks and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain performance.
\n Required Expertise
\n * Competent at using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
\n * Experienced ERP user with the ability to work with MRP systems, preferably SAP/SAP Cloud ERP.
\n * Experience in supply chain, materials planning, purchasing, customer service, sales administration, or inventory management roles.
\n * Understanding of material planning, inventory control, and order management processes.
\n * Experience working with suppliers and coordinating delivery schedules.

\n Essential Experience
\n * Experience working in supply chain, materials planning, purchasing, customer service, sales administration, or inventory management roles.
\n Essential Skills and Competencies
\n * Strong planning and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
\n * Able to analyse information, identify potential supply or service risks, and take appropriate action.
\n * Effective communication skills for building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
\n * High level of accuracy in maintaining data and records with strong attention to detail.
\n * Capable of solving problems proactively and responding effectively to changing business requirements.
\n * Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
\n * Experienced ERP user.
\n * Able to work collaboratively across Sales, Operations, Production Planning, and supplier networks.
\n * Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of key activities and outcomes.
\n * Understanding of material planning, inventory control, and order management processes.
\n * Capable of working with suppliers and coordinating delivery schedules.
\n * Experienced in using MRP systems, preferably SAP/SAP Cloud ERP, for managing purchasing, inventory, and sales orders.
\n * Able to support cross-functional teams in manufacturing or operational environments.
\n * Understanding of customer service principles and the importance of on-time delivery performance.
\n * Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes.
