Tax Manager | Full Time, Permanent | North London“The hardest thing to understand in the world is the income tax.” Albert EinsteinSheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established Chartered Accountancy firm based in North London, which is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing team.This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified tax professional who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to take on a varied role within a supportive and forward-thinking practice.The RoleAs Tax Manager, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients, providing high-quality tax advice and compliance support while building strong, long-term relationships.Your responsibilities as Tax Manager will include:\n

- Managing a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients, overseeing their tax affairs and ensuring deadlines are met. \n
- Reviewing and overseeing the preparation of corporation tax, self-assessment and other tax returns. \n
- Providing clients with practical tax advice and planning opportunities, identifying areas where the firm can add value. \n
- Supporting clients with a range of tax queries, including more complex and ad hoc matters. \n
- Reviewing tax computations and ensuring work is completed accurately and in line with relevant legislation. \n
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact. \n
- Working closely with colleagues across accounts and wider business advisory teams. \n
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team, reviewing their work and helping with their development. \n
- Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and HMRC requirements and communicating relevant updates to clients and colleagues. \n
- Assisting with the continued development and growth of the firm's tax offering. \n
- \n
- ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified, or qualified by significant relevant experience. \n
- Experienced within a UK accountancy practice. \n
- Strong technically, with a good understanding of personal and corporate taxation. \n
- Confident managing a portfolio of clients and working directly with business owners and individuals. \n
- Commercially minded, with the ability to identify tax planning and advisory opportunities. \n
- A strong communicator who can explain complex tax matters clearly. \n
- Organised and able to manage competing deadlines effectively. \n
- A supportive team player with the ability to mentor and develop junior colleagues. \n
