Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Aberystwyth £40,000 to £48,000, depending on experience

Yolk Recruitment is representing an established and well-invested food manufacturer in the search for an electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for a permanent days-based shift. You will work a consistent 4 on, 4 off patterns from 10:00am to 10:00pm, joining an experienced and supportive engineering function within a busy manufacturing environment. There can be some flexibility around start and finish times at weekends, where agreed by the engineering team.

What You'll Do:\n
    \n
  • Provide reactive engineering support to keep high-volume production equipment running safely and efficiently
  • \n
  • Complete planned preventive maintenance across production and site services equipment
  • \n
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, carrying out effective repairs to minimise disruption
  • \n
  • Work with equipment including processing machinery, pasteurisation systems, boilers, and associated utilities
  • \n
  • Support basic plumbing, mechanical strip-downs and general engineering activities when required
  • \n
  • Record and manage maintenance activity through a computerised maintenance management system
  • \n
  • Make the most of planned production downtime by completing maintenance, repairs, and equipment improvements
  • \n
  • Work closely with another engineer on shift and communicate effectively with production and wider site teams
  • \n
  • Follow robust health, safety, hygiene, and food manufacturing procedures always
  • \n
What You'll Bring:\n
    \n
  • Electrical training or qualifications, supported by practical mechanical maintenance capability
  • \n
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Engineer or similar
  • \n
  • Confidence fault-finding and repairing industrial machinery
  • \n
  • Experience completing both planned and reactive maintenance
  • \n
  • Manufacturing experience, ideally gained within food, beverage, FMCG, pharmaceutical or another regulated production environment
  • \n
  • A practical, inquisitive approach and the willingness to develop new technical skills
  • \n
  • The ability to work safely in and around production machinery, including accessing confined or awkward equipment areas
  • \n
  • Experience with boilers, processing equipment, pasteurisation systems, or industrial utilities would be beneficial, but is not essential
  • \n
