Job Title: Private Client Tax Advisory Manager

Location: City of London - flexible working available

Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 + benefits package!

The Role:

\n

As a Private Client Tax Advisory Manager, you will oversee complex personal tax engagements and provide strategic advice on tax planning and compliance. You will manage key client relationships, mentor teams, and contribute to business development initiatives. Your role is to ensure technical excellence, client satisfaction, and support the growth of the tax practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate exceptional client service (both internal and external) and understand the importance to the firm as well as clients
  • \n
  • Demonstrate the ability to look forward at industry and wider legislative (or otherwise) changes which may affect clients and proactively seek to offer support where appropriate
  • \n
  • Tailor services to match client requirements in regards to scope and deliverables, timing and cost of services provided
  • \n
  • Lead meetings with stakeholders
  • \n
  • Regular in-person dialogue with clients as a primary point of contact and use this to improve client service and identify sales opportunities.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with other service lines on complex issues in order to reach a solution and take the lead in communicating outcomes to clients
  • \n
  • Proactively and professionally put forward considered views to drive change and improve processes for the better.
  • \n
  • Act as a coach and mentor to more junior team members, supporting management of your own team
  • \n
  • Identifying opportunities to promote specialist area to clients, prospects and external professional referrers with the aim of generating new referrals and work wins
  • \n

Technical Skills:

\n
    \n
  • Proficient in preparing final tax packs/transmittal letters for higher risk Private Tax clients
  • \n
  • Take the lead on most technical work, other than the most complex, limiting director/partner input to higher risk matters
  • \n
  • Build and foster a good team spirit by engaging directly with team members and taking responsibility for team building events e.g. social events and activities, as well as general team spirit
  • \n
  • Arrange team meetings, providing agendas and sourcing matters for discussion
  • \n
  • Promotes a culture within the team of keeping on top of legislative changes. Actively organises training sessions for the team and regularly shares guidance / training material around the team to help with this
  • \n
  • Confident and can actively build strong relationships with clients
  • \n

Requirements:

\n
    \n
  • CTA qualified
  • \n
  • 2+ years' post-qualification experience.
  • \n
  • Experience advising HNW and UHNW individuals within a Mid-Tier or Big Four environment.
  • \n
  • Strong technical knowledge including:
  • \n
      \n
    • New long-term residence / TRF / FIG rules.
    • \n
    • Historic non-dom, remittance basis and mixed fund rules.
    • \n
    • UK Statutory Residence Test (SRT).
    • \n
    • Double tax treaties.
    • \n
    • UK and offshore trusts.
    • \n
    • Inheritance Tax planning, including trusts, wills, reliefs and exemptions (NRB, RNRB, Business Relief, pensions, etc.).
    • \n
    • Property holding structures and Family Investment Companies.
    • \n
    • HMRC enquiries and nudge letters.
    • \n
    \n
  • Strong report writing and advisory skills.
  • \n
  • Experience managing billing, fee estimates, budgets and client expectations.
  • \n
