The Role\nAs an Assistant Associate, you'll become involved in a varied portfolio of client work rather than focusing on one narrow area. You'll have regular interaction with colleagues, clients and third parties, with plenty of scope to develop your commercial awareness and professional judgement. What You'll Be Doing\n- \n
- Preparing bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records \n
- Raising sales invoices and considering relevant VAT and tax implications across UK and international transactions \n
- Preparing VAT returns and supporting wider compliance activities \n
- Reconciling client and agent statements and investigating discrepancies \n
- Reviewing card transactions and checking associated invoices and receipts \n
- Preparing elements of management information and financial reporting \n
- Processing supplier payments and carrying out appropriate checks on bank details \n
- Liaising with suppliers to verify payment information before transactions are processed \n
- Entering and processing payments through internal systems and, as your experience develops, supporting client banking processes \n
- Investigating and resolving queries from clients, colleagues and external stakeholders \n
- Working alongside client managers to understand individual client requirements \n
- Identifying issues or opportunities where more detailed accounting or advisory input may be appropriate \n
You don't need to have extensive experience, but you should have a genuine interest in developing a career within accountancy and be comfortable working with financial information. The successful candidate is likely to bring:

- Some practical or academic exposure to basic accounting principles \n
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook \n
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy when working under pressure \n

- Clear written and verbal communication skills \n
- A self-motivated approach and willingness to learn \n
- The ability to apply existing knowledge to unfamiliar situations \n

- Previous exposure to Xero would be advantageous, although training can be provided \n

- Salary: £28,000-£32,000, depending on experience \n
