Your new company Hays are working in partnership with a well-established building services consultancy to recruit an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer for their growing team in Bournemouth.This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to develop their career within a supportive and technically diverse environment. You will work on a variety of projects across sectors including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, hospitality, and mixed-use developments, contributing to the design and delivery of innovative electrical building services solutions.Your new role As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will be involved in all stages of project delivery, from initial concept design through to construction and completion. Working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in producing high-quality electrical designs that meet both client expectations and industry standards.

- Prepare electrical building services designs and calculations. \n
- Design systems including power distribution, lighting, small power, emergency lighting, fire alarms, and specialist systems. \n
- Produce technical specifications, reports, and design documentation. \n
- Assist with project delivery from feasibility through to handover. \n
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other design consultants. \n
- Attend project and design team meetings. \n
- Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practice. \n
- Support junior team members where appropriate and contribute to a collaborative culture. \n
What you'll need to succeed
\n- \n
- Degree or HNC/HND qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering. \n
- Experience within a building services consultancy environment. \n
- Strong understanding of electrical building services design. \n
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux, Relux, or similar. \n
- Knowledge of current UK Building Regulations and British Standards. \n
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills. \n
- A proactive approach and desire to continue developing professionally. \n
- Progress towards professional accreditation (IEng or CEng) would be advantageous. \n
