thriving and ambitious nursery setting in Woodford Green.The RoleAs the Early Years Room Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of your designated room, ensuring children receive outstanding care, welfare and educational experiences.You will lead and motivate a team of practitioners, oversee planning and assessment processes, monitor children's progress, and maintain exceptional standards in line with the EYFS Framework, Ofsted requirements and nursery policies.Working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider leadership team, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support colleagues' development and help drive excellence across the setting.Key ResponsibilitiesRoom Leadership & ManagementLead the daily running of your designated roomCreate a stimulating, engaging and inclusive learning environmentEnsure consistently high standards of childcare, education and welfareSupervise, support and motivate practitioners within the roomWork closely with senior leaders to achieve nursery objectivesSupport the implementation of new initiatives, procedures and quality improvementsTeaching, Learning & Child DevelopmentDeliver high-quality learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)Support planning that reflects children's interests, abilities and developmental needsSupport school readiness and children's social, emotional and cognitive developmentEnsure every child receives engaging and challenging learning opportunitiesPromote inclusion and equal opportunities for all childrenKey Person ResponsibilitiesAct as an interim Key Person where requiredDevelop strong and trusting relationships with children and familiesMonitor and support the progress and wellbeing of key childrenComplete observations, assessments and development records accuratelyEnsure parental observations are recorded and utilised effectivelyContribute to children's learning journeys and developmental planningParent PartnershipsBuild strong, professional relationships with parents and carersEncourage parent engagement and participation in nursery lifeMaintain regular communication regarding children's progress and wellbeingUse the Famly App effectively to maintain ongoing updates and communicationAddress parental queries professionally and promptlyEstablish trusting partnerships that support children's development both at nursery and at homeDocumentation & AssessmentEnsure daily diaries are completed accurately and published in a timely mannerOversee and support the completion of high-quality observationsEncourage team members to contribute regularly to children's learning recordsMonitor the quality and consistency of documentation across the roomMaintain accurate records in line with nursery policies and regulatory requirementsSafeguarding, Health & SafetyPromote and safeguard the welfare of all childrenMaintain excellent knowledge of safeguarding procedures and responsibilitiesFollow all local safeguarding and child protection guidelinesSupport compliance with Ofsted, EYFS and nursery standardsPerson SpecificationEssentialPrevious experience working within an Early Years settingStrong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)Experience leading or supervising staff within a nursery environmentStrong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection proceduresAbility to build positive relationships with children, parents and colleaguesLevel 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years Education or equivalentPrevious experience
