\nWe're looking for a GCSE English Tutor to support children and young people across Portsmouth, Southampton, and the surrounding Hampshire areas.
\nWorking on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide 1:1 tuition to learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students you'll support have experienced barriers to education and benefit from a tailored approach that helps rebuild confidence, improve attainment, and prepare for GCSE success.
\nWhether students are working towards their exams, catching up on missed learning, or re-engaging with education, you'll play an important role in helping them achieve their goals.

- Subject: GCSE English \n
- Start Date: September \n
- Hours: Flexible \n
- Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour \n
- Type: 1:1 Tuition \n
Requirements
\n- \n
- Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles \n
- Strong knowledge of GCSE English \n
- Experience delivering or supporting English lessons \n
- Ability to adapt learning to suit different abilities and learning styles \n
- Experience supporting students with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable \n
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills \n
- Patient, engaging, and flexible approach \n
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one \n
- Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Portsmouth, Southampton, and surrounding areas \n

- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) \n
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs \n
- ADHD \n
- Anxiety and school avoidance \n
- EHCPs and additional educational needs \n
Each placement is different, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through personalised support and relationship-led learning.
