We're looking for a GCSE English Tutor to support children and young people across Portsmouth, Southampton, and the surrounding Hampshire areas.

\n

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide 1:1 tuition to learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students you'll support have experienced barriers to education and benefit from a tailored approach that helps rebuild confidence, improve attainment, and prepare for GCSE success.

\n

Whether students are working towards their exams, catching up on missed learning, or re-engaging with education, you'll play an important role in helping them achieve their goals.

Requirements

\n
    \n
  • Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of GCSE English
  • \n
  • Experience delivering or supporting English lessons
  • \n
  • Ability to adapt learning to suit different abilities and learning styles
  • \n
  • Experience supporting students with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
  • \n
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • \n
  • Patient, engaging, and flexible approach
  • \n
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • \n
  • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Portsmouth, Southampton, and surrounding areas
  • \n
