HGV Class 2 Tramper Driver The Role\n

As an HGV Class 2 Tramper Driver, you will be based in Kettering and undertake long-distance distribution and multi-drop delivery routes to customer premises across Scotland.

You will be responsible for safely operating an HGV Class 2 / Category C vehicle, completing multiple deliveries and ensuring goods are delivered safely and on time.

\n

The role involves working away from base as part of the tramping operation, with £35 nightly allowance provided for truck stop stays.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Safely operate an HGV Class 2 / Category C vehicle
\n
• Complete long-distance deliveries from Kettering to Scotland
\n
• Carry out multi-drop deliveries to restaurant and customer premises

• Load and unload goods safely
\n
• Carry out manual handling and heavy lifting when required
\n
• Complete daily vehicle walk-around and safety checks
\n
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and tachograph records
\n
• Comply fully with drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
\n
• Plan and manage driving time and delivery schedules effectively
\n
• Work independently while away from base
\n
• Provide professional customer service at every delivery
\n
• Report vehicle defects and other issues promptly
\n
• Maintain the vehicle to a high standard

HGV Class 2 Driver Requirements\n

To be considered for this HGV Class 2 Tramper Driver position, you will need:

• Valid UK HGV Class 2 / Category C driving licence

• Maximum 3 penalty points
\n
• No active DR or DD endorsements
\n
• Valid Driver CPC
\n
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card

• Previous commercial HGV Class 2 driving experience

• Previous multi-drop delivery experience is desirable
\n
• Experience with long-distance driving is advantageous
\n
• Good manual handling and physical fitness
\n
• Strong time-management and organisational skills
\n
• Professional attitude and excellent customer service skills
\n
• Ability to work independently

• Willingness to work away from home as part of a tramping operation
