Job Description

A highly reputable international non-profit is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the financial operations and reporting at their organisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in finance operations, a trustworthy problem solver with a can-do attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency. The successful individual will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to operate independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across the organisation, supporting them with accurate financial insights and guidance.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate financial records and efficient processes.
  • \n
  • Own the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with deadlines.
  • \n
  • Produce monthly financial reports and variance analysis, highlighting key risks and opportunities.
  • \n
  • Manage the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • \n
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts at both organisational and departmental levels.
  • \n
  • Develop and maintain robust financial reporting for grants and projects.
  • \n
  • Maintain the integrity of financial and CRM data, improving processes, reporting, and data quality.
  • \n
  • Manage banking payments, bank account management, and monitor organisational cash flow.
  • \n
  • Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure strong governance and regulatory compliance.
  • \n
  • Manage the annual audit process and support grant applications and funding proposals.
  • \n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

    \n
  • Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • \n
  • High-quality analytical skills to understand and analyse financial data.
  • \n
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with a variety of stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Experience in financial planning, accounting, and analysis, providing budgeting and forecasting support.
  • \n
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
  • \n
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel.
  • \n
  • Experience working within a small central team.
  • \n
\n

Desirable:

    \n
  • Experience working with Xero.
  • \n
  • Charity finance experience.
  • \n
  • Experience managing grant-funded projects.
  • \n
  • Experience producing reports with management information of spend vs budget.
  • \n
  • International finance experience with exposure to USAID.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of Spanish (a nice to have but not essential).
  • \n
