Engineering Manager – Lead, Develop & Transform\nAre you an experienced Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer or Head of Engineering looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact?
\nWe're working with a high-performing, international FMCG manufacturing business that is looking for an Engineering Manager to take ownership of the engineering and maintenance function at their Bedford site.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing engineering team, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement \n
- Champion Health & Safety, driving a proactive safety culture with a focus on zero accidents \n
- Develop and implement a robust planned and preventative maintenance strategy \n
- Improve plant reliability, equipment availability and reduce unplanned downtime \n
- Drive Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the site \n
- Develop and manage engineering KPIs, using data to improve reliability, efficiency and operational performance \n
- Take ownership of engineering and maintenance activities across plant, equipment and facilities \n
- Lead engineering and CAPEX projects from planning through to successful implementation \n
- Manage engineering budgets, expenditure and engineering stores \n
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, customer, quality and engineering standards \n
- Work closely with Production and Operations to maximise plant availability and support production targets \n
- Build strong relationships across the wider business and influence at senior-management level \n
- Develop engineering capability through training, coaching, succession planning and effective performance management \n
We're looking for an established engineering leader who combines strong technical knowledge with a genuine passion for people, reliability and operational improvement.
\nYou'll ideally have:
\n- \n
- HND or degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or a related discipline \n
- Proven experience leading an engineering or maintenance function within a manufacturing environment \n
- Strong maintenance, reliability and engineering best-practice experience \n
- Experience managing, coaching and developing engineering teams \n
- Proven experience delivering CAPEX and engineering projects \n
- Experience managing engineering budgets and expenditure \n
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement \n
- Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems \n
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety, compliance and engineering standards \n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills \n
- Experience using KPIs and data to drive engineering and operational performance \n
- A visible, hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop people \n
