Tamil Speaking Befriender Volunteer

We are looking for a Tamil-speaking befriender volunteer to support residents to express themselves in their native language. Volunteering with Creative Support is a great way to enrich the lives of people with support needs while helping our staff to deliver person-centred services.We are looking for an outgoing, sociable and warm person, who's also a good listener. As a befriender, you will provide companionship by meeting regularly for a cup of tea and a chat. We ask that you are able to communicate confidently in Tamil in order to engage in conversations together.You will engage with residents in a friendly manner and develop a strong rapport with the people we support. You will meet residents in their flats and in common areas, encouraging them to engage in conversation and activities. If you have a few hours to spare on a regular basis, we would love to hear from you!This role is for an extra care service in North London which supports older people.
