We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join a busy finance team in South Derbyshire on a 12-month fixed term contract.This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation, gain valuable experience within a supportive finance function and play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the accounts payable process.Working as part of the wider finance team, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments, maintaining supplier accounts and resolving queries. You'll need to be organised, detail-focused and comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities: Processing purchase invoicesMatching invoices to purchase orders and delivery documentationCoding and posting invoices to the correct accountsPreparing and assisting with supplier payment runsReconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepanciesResponding to supplier and internal invoice queriesMaintaining accurate supplier account recordsSupporting month-end processes and reportingMonitoring outstanding invoices and resolving issues promptlyAssisting with general finance and accounts administration as requiredAbout You: We're looking for someone who is confident working within an accounts payable or purchase ledger environment and who takes pride in getting the detail right.You will ideally have:Previous experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance roleGood attention to detail and accuracyStrong organisational and time-management skillsThe ability to work to deadlines in a busy environmentGood communication skills and a professional approach to dealing with suppliersStrong Excel skills and confidence using finance/accounting systemsA proactive approach and willingness to support the wider finance teamThe ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamIf you're an Accounts Payable professional looking for a 12-month opportunity in South Derbyshire, we'd love to hear from you.
