Mechanical Head of EngineeringMy client is growing, and they''re looking for an experienced Mechanical Head of Engineering to join their team in Manchester.This is a senior role for a hands-on engineering leader who knows how to turn complex mechanical requirements into successful construction projects. Youll take ownership of mechanical project delivery, providing technical leadership from design and planning through to installation, commissioning and completion.The RoleAs Mechanical Head of Engineering , youll be responsible for leading the mechanical engineering and project delivery function, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, commercially and to the highest technical standards.Youll work closely with project managers, site teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers, making sure mechanical solutions are practical, coordinated and delivered right first time.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery of mechanical engineering across construction projects.Provide technical leadership and direction throughout the project lifecycle.Oversee mechanical design, coordination, installation and commissioning activities.Review and approve mechanical designs, specifications and technical submissions.Work closely with project and construction teams to identify and resolve technical challenges.Ensure mechanical works are delivered in line with programme, budget, quality and client requirements.Manage engineering risks, design changes, technical queries and project interfaces.Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure effective project delivery.Support project planning, procurement and construction methodologies from a mechanical perspective.Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, specifications and health & safety requirements.Drive continuous improvement across mechanical engineering and project delivery processes.Provide technical support and expertise to senior management and project teams.The CandidateThey are looking for someone who combines strong mechanical engineering expertise with proven construction project experience .Youll be confident making decisions, solving problems and leading from the front. Youll understand the pressures of live construction environments and know what it takes to get projects delivered.Significant experience in mechanical engineering within the construction or building services sector.Proven experience leading mechanical projects from design through to completion.Strong understanding of mechanical building services, construction methodologies and project delivery.Experience working with clients, consultants, contractors and supply chains.Excellent technical problem-solving and decision-making skills.Strong commercial and programme awareness.The ability to lead, influence and communicate effectively at all levels.A proactive, practical and delivery-focused approach.Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications or equivalent industry experience.INDABTPBN1_UKTJ
