Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to take ownership of the Electrical Engineering function within an established engineering business.

\n

This is a senior technical and leadership position, combining hands-on electrical engineering with team management, technical authority and project delivery.

\n

You will work across major projects within the oil & gas, petrochemical, energy and chemical sectors, with involvement from concept and FEED through to detailed design and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Lead and manage the Electrical Engineering team
  • \n
  • Act as the technical authority for electrical engineering matters
  • \n
  • Review and approve electrical drawings, calculations, specifications and technical documentation
  • \n
  • Ensure designs meet relevant standards, regulations and HSEQ requirements
  • \n
  • Review vendor and multidisciplinary engineering documentation
  • \n
  • Manage departmental workload, resources and technical quality
  • \n
  • Support projects through concept, FEED, detailed design and close-out
  • \n
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and other engineering disciplines
  • \n
  • Coach and mentor engineers
  • \n
  • Develop engineering standards, processes and best practice
  • \n
  • Attend client sites and support commissioning when required
  • \n
What We're Looking For\n
    \n
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • \n
  • Senior/Lead Electrical Engineering experience within a consultancy, design house or EPC/EPCM environment
  • \n
  • Experience across oil & gas, petrochemical, energy or chemical projects
  • \n
  • Strong project experience from Concept/FEED through Detailed Design
  • \n
  • Excellent LV and HV knowledge up to 11kV
  • \n
  • 33kV experience advantageous
  • \n
  • Knowledge of ATEX, offshore regulations, Safety Cases, cabling and electrical equipment
  • \n
  • Strong protection and settings knowledge
  • \n
  • Experience with electrical design calculations and modelling
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of British, European and international electrical standards
  • \n
  • Trimble/Amtech experience advantageous
  • \n
  • Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills
  • \n
  • Commercially aware with the ability to manage multiple projects
