JB509: Maintenance EngineerLocation: Wiltshire – ideally Mid to North WiltshireSalary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum DOEWorking Hours: Monday – Friday – flexible hours to be agreedOverviewFirst Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Swimming Pool Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.Our client is a growing, high-standard swimming pool engineering company covering the Cotswolds and Wessex, specialising in the servicing, maintenance and repair of swimming pools for high-end residential clients.The successful candidate will ideally hold a City & Guilds 2391-52 Electrical Qualification or equivalent. Full, hands-on training will be provided in swimming pool systems, water chemistry and plant rooms, providing an excellent opportunity to develop an electrical background into a specialist, long-term engineering career.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities for the Swimming Pool Engineer:

  • Inspect, test, diagnose and repair electrical control panels, pumps, dosing systems, electric heaters, UV systems and automated pool controls.
  • \n
  • Carry out routine plant room servicing and mechanical maintenance.
  • \n
  • Install and commission swimming pool equipment and associated systems.
  • \n
  • Conduct water testing and chemical balancing.
  • \n
  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and fault finding across high-end residential and commercial swimming pool sites.
  • \n
  • Act as the face of the business, providing polite, professional and clear communication to domestic homeowners and commercial facilities managers.
  • \n
  • Complete accurate digital service reports following each visit.
  • \n
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant electrical and safety regulations.
  • \n
  • Independently manage a daily travel schedule across Wiltshire, Swindon, the Cotswolds and the surrounding M4 corridor.
  • \n
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment to a high standard.
  • \n
  • Provide a consistently professional standard of workmanship and customer service.
  • \n

Skills and Qualifications for the Swimming Pool Engineer:

  • City & Guilds 2391-52 – Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing, or an equivalent recognised electrical qualification.
  • \n
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • \n
  • Strong electrical inspection, testing and fault-finding skills.
  • \n
  • Reliable, punctual and well organised.
  • \n
  • High standards of personal presentation and professionalism.
  • \n
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • \n
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
  • \n
  • A calm, methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving.
  • \n
  • Strong integrity and a commitment to completing work to a high standard.
  • \n

Desirable for the Swimming Pool Engineer:

  • Previous experience with pumps, motors or electrical control systems.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing or hydraulics.
  • \n
  • Previous experience within swimming pools, water treatment or leisure facilities.
  • \n
  • Existing swimming pool or water treatment qualifications, such as ISPE or STA.
  • \n
  • Previous experience working within plant rooms or similar engineering environments.
  • \n
  • Full training will be provided for candidates without previous swimming pool experience.
  • \n
