Key Requirement:D&B Project Management + Hospital/Healthcare Experience

A nationally recognised construction business is seeking an experienced Site-Based Project Manager to deliver a £6.5m Design & Build (D&B) hospital project in Portsmouth.

Design & Build experience and previous hospital/healthcare project experience are essential. The successful Project Manager will have strong experience working in live healthcare environments, managing designers, subcontractors, consultants and specialist supply chains.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project delivery from initial site mobilisation/shovel in the ground through to handover.
\n
• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the £6.5m D&B hospital project, including 4 laboratories.
\n
• Manage and coordinate architects, designers, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
\n
• Develop, monitor and maintain the construction programme.
\n
• Ensure the programme remains on track and key milestones are achieved.
\n
• Manage the healthcare supply chain and subcontractor performance.
\n
• Act as a key client-facing representative throughout the project.
\n
• Maintain strong contractual awareness and ensure project obligations are met.
\n
• Identify, manage and resolve risks, delays and technical issues.
\n
• Ensure works are delivered safely, to specification, programme and required quality standards.
\n
• Lead regular progress meetings and provide clear project reporting.
\n
• Coordinate site teams and maintain effective communication across all project stakeholders.
\n

About the Project Manager

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven Project Manager experience delivering hospital or healthcare construction projects.
\n
• Strong Design & Build (D&B) project experience.
\n
• Experience working within live hospital environments.
\n
• A strong understanding of healthcare construction and specialist supply chains.
\n
• Excellent programme and project management skills.
\n
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management abilities.
\n
• Good contractual and commercial awareness.
\n
• The ability to identify problems early and ensure the programme does not fail.
\n
