Lead Backend Engineer / Developer (Python TypeScript API) Newcastle onsite to 130kAre you a technologist who enjoys working with a range of programming languages and liaising with clients?You could be joining a scaling FinTech within the consulting division of the Newcastle office.What's in it for you:Salary to 130k + Bonus25 days holidayBupa healthcareGenerous pension contributionContinuous career development opportunitiesSocial team atmosphere with a range of events and early finish for drinks on FridaysRelocation assistance (within the UK)Your role:As a Lead Backend Engineer you'll design and implement the logic behind core applications, build APIs and microservices that handle data processing, business rules and third-party integrations and oversee the configuration and upkeep of secure, reliable server environments, working with a range of programming languages and technologies, dependant on the client environment.You'll work closely with internal teams and customers to gather detailed requirements through meetings and workshops and help shape the product vision and roadmap by offering technical insight and feasibility guidance, remaining hands-on with architecture and design.You will be a technical leader, instilling best practices, conducting code reviews, mentoring and collaboratively problem solving to help your team remove any blockers and delivery high quality software.Location: You'll join colleagues in brand new Central Newcastle offices on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday), working hours 0900-1800 with some flexibility. The offices are well equipped and offer fantastic views across the City and the local countryside, many employees walk or cycle in (onsite showers available!). About you:You have achieved a minimum 2.1 BSc in Computer Science or similar technical discipline from a top tier / Russel Group university, backed by A's at A-levelYou have strong software engineering experience with a range of technology e.g. C#, .Net, Python, TypeScript, C++, Rust, RESTful APIs, Vue.js, React, PostgreSQL, CI/CD, Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), DevOpsYou have advanced communication and client relationship building skills gained within a consultancy environmentYou have strong business acumenYou're a technologist who enjoys collaborating and problem solvingYou have a good knowledge of modern software engineering best practices across the full software development lifecycleYou have a thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns, AlgorithmsYou're excited to join a start-up in a role that you can shape and influenceApply now to find out more about this Lead Backend Engineer / Developer opportunity.
