OverviewJob Role: Cloud Infrastructure Architect Salary: 90,000 - 100,000 depending on experience + 15% bonus Working location: Milton Keynes / London, Hybrid Employment type: Full time, PermanentJob Summary:We’re looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Architect to design and guide the technology platforms that power NHBC. You’ll ensure our cloud and infrastructure services are secure, scalable, and built for the future, helping NHBC achieve its transformation goals while staying compliant, cost effective, and resilient.Reporting to the Lead Architect, you’ll set technical standards across infrastructure, cloud, identity, and cyber security. Working closely with Information Security, Engineering, DevOps, and Operations teams, you’ll embed secure by design thinking and modern, automated infrastructure practices across the organisation.What you’ll doDefine and maintain NHBC’s cloud, security, and infrastructure architecture and standardsDesign cloud-native and hybrid solutions that balance performance, resilience, and costCollaborate with DevOps teams to drive automation and infrastructure as code practicesEnsure designs meet security, compliance, and operational expectations from the startSupport lifecycle planning from platform upgrades to rationalisationAdvise on security tooling, identity management, and threat mitigationWork with Information Security and Risk teams to meet regulatory and governance standardsContribute to cost optimised, sustainable cloud designStay informed on emerging cloud, cyber, and infrastructure trends and recommend improvementsWhat you’ll bringStrong experience in cloud, infrastructure, and security architectureProven success designing and governing secure, scalable hybrid environmentsDeep understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred), networking, and identity managementExperience with automation tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or AnsibleKnowledge of secure by design and infrastructure as code principlesExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex risks clearlyAnalytical, pragmatic mindset, balancing innovation, performance, and costFamiliarity with platform monitoring, lifecycle management, and licensing considerationsWhat we offerOur benefits package includes:27 days annual leave + bank holidaysholiday purchase schemeenhanced pension scheme (up to 10.5%)life assurancesubsidised private medical insuranceemployee discounts platformtwo days volunteer leaveenhanced maternity, paternity, adoption leave and pay for all new parents+ many more!Who we areAt NHBC, we pride ourselves on being truly unique.
