Vehicle Damage Assessor / ControllerRole OverviewYou may come from a fleet leasing background or equally may come directly from a bodyshop repair background and both will be equally considered.There will be opportunity to develop a long worthwhile career with great benefits.We are seeking a Vehicle Damage Assessor / Controller to oversee the assessment, coordination, and cost-effective repair of vehicle damage across our fleet.This is a key role responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient repairs, while maintaining strong relationships with third-party repairers and keeping vehicles on the road with minimal downtime.Key ResponsibilitiesDamage Assessment & Technical EvaluationInspect and assess vehicle damage to determine structural, mechanical, and cosmetic repair requirements in line with manufacturer and safety standardsIdentify appropriate repair methods using manufacturer repair data, guidelines, and workshop capabilitiesEvaluate whether repairs are safe, compliant, and cost-effectiveReview supplementary damage discovered during disassembly and update repair plans accordinglyRepair Coordination & LiaisonLiaise with third-party body repair facilities to coordinate repairs and timelinesManage communication between repairers, internal teams, and suppliersMonitor repair progress and ensure agreed turnaround times are metSupport workflow management by coordinating parts ordering, job progression, and repair sequencingCost Control & Decision MakingEnsure repair decisions are cost-effective and transparent, Balance safe repair practices with business needs, insurer policies, and customer expectations, Review repair estimates and authorisations .Skills & Experience RequiredEssentialExperience in vehicle damage assessment, bodyshop, or repair controlStrong knowledge of vehicle repair methods and damage assessmentAbility to liaise confidently with repairers and suppliersGood organisational and time-management skillsStrong attention to detailFull UK driving licenceDesirableExperience within vehicle rental, fleet, or accident managementKnowledge of ADAS systems and modern vehicle technologiesEstimating system experience (Audatex / GT Motive / similar)Mechanical knowledge or bodyshop backgroundPersonal AttributesProactive and solution-focusedStrong communication skillsCommercial awarenessTeam player with independent working abilityCalm under pressureSalary & BenefitsCompetitive salaryBonus SchemeFree Annual MOTDiscounted Vehicle Repairs5% Employee Pension ContributionFriendly Family-Run Working EnvironmentJob TypeFull-timePermanentMonday Friday (with occasional flexibility if required)TPBN1_UKTJ
