GC155: Operations TechnicianLocation: Fort WilliamSalary: CompetitiveOverview:Our well-established client are Water and Power engineers with experience from feasibility studies to design, project management and O&M.They are looking for a multi-skilled Operations Technician with an electrical background (will also consider Control / PLC or HV Systems) to join a team that delivers mini projects, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and service programmes for clients across UK.We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates and particularly encourage applications from ex-military personnel.Key Responsibilities:The ideal candidate will be able to work on a variety of Water and Power projects including: -

- Fault finding. \n
- Repair and maintenance activities. \n
- Hydraulic systems, turbines, motors, pumps, inverters. \n
- PLC control systems. \n
- HV electrical systems. \n
Work schedule:
\n- \n
- Regular travel and overnight stays to remote sites. \n
- Weekend work may be required occasionally. \n
- Paid overtime. \n
- Typical work cycle 5.5 / 7, or 11 / 14. \n
Qualifications & Experience:
\n- \n
- A relevant technical qualification. \n
- 4 years+ experience working in the E&M service sector. \n
- Experience in a role which is “hands-on the tools” with the ability to use initiative. \n
- Proactive and ability to be flexible in a changing environment. \n
- Able to work independently, under pressure and in remote areas. \n
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills. \n
- A full driving licence. \n
Desirable / Optional:
\n- \n
- PLC Control/ SCADA or \n
- HV power Systems (AP or SAP) typically 11kV or 33kV or \n
- Experience working in the energy industry. \n
