Cloud Network Engineer – AWS, Security, Automation85,000 + bonus and benefitsHybrid 2 days in the London officeQuant Capital is working with a global financial technology firm looking to hire a Cloud Network Engineer to design, build and operate secure, scalable network infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments. This role sits within a modern platform engineering function and focuses heavily on automation, security and reliability.You’ll work closely with cloud, security and application teams to deliver high-availability networking for business-critical systems, with real ownership over architecture and implementation.The RoleDesign and deploy network architecture across AWS and on-prem environmentsBuild and operate AWS networking services including VPCs, Transit Gateway, VPN and Direct ConnectConfigure and manage load balancing (ALB/NLB) and ingress within Kubernetes environmentsImplement network security controls including WAF, segmentation and firewall policiesOwn connectivity patterns such as PrivateLink and service-to-service networkingManage perimeter and internal firewalls (Palo Alto or similar)Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code practices across networkingMonitor, troubleshoot and optimise network performance, security and costRespond to incidents, vulnerabilities and security eventsMaintain clear technical documentation and standardsSkills requiredStrong background in enterprise or cloud networkingHands-on experience with AWS networking (VPC, TGW, Route 53, Direct Connect)Experience with cloud security platforms such as Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA)Solid understanding of routing, switching, VPNs and firewallingExperience managing Palo Alto or equivalent firewallsExposure to automation and IaC (Terraform, Python desirable)Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworksThis is a unique opportunity for someone to expand further into financial technology.
