Job summaryThis JD is awaiting RCP approval and is being advertised retrospectively. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Consultant in Medical Oncology with a Breast subspecialty to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, based primarily at Northwick Park Hospital. This is a substantive, full-time post with 10 Programmed Activities (PAs); however, PAs are negotiable and can be discussed at the time of interview. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a range of oncology services, with a primary focus on breast cancer. They will also have the opportunity to develop a special interest within the breast tumour site and contribute to service development in line with Trust priorities.You will join a well-established and collaborative department delivering outpatient chemotherapy, acute oncology and palliative care across multiple sites. Responsibilities include:1. Breast Oncology & General Medical Oncology DutiesProvide specialist care for patients with breast cancer, including assessment, treatment planning and ongoing management.Support the Acute Oncology Service (AOS), ensuring timely, high-quality care for patients admitted with cancer-related complications.Collaborate effectively with CNS teams, chemotherapy nursing staff, and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver coordinated care across all sites.Review systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) prescriptions, assess patients for treatment, and contribute to clinical trials activity.Provide on-site clinical support to the Chemotherapy Suite and Clinical Trials Unit when required.2. Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) ParticipationActively participate in the weekly Breast MDT and other relevant tumour-site meetings.Work closely with surgical, radiology, pathology, and allied health colleagues to deliver seamless, evidence-based cancer pathways.3.
