\nWe're looking for a Secondary Humanities Tutor to support young people across Portsmouth, Southampton, and the surrounding Hampshire areas through personalised 1:1 tuition.
\nWorking on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll help students engage with subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Studies, and broader Humanities topics, tailoring sessions to meet individual learning needs. Many learners require alternative educational provision and benefit from a tutor who can make learning accessible, engaging, and relevant.
\nThis role is ideal for educators who enjoy encouraging curiosity, developing critical thinking skills, and helping students build confidence in their abilities.

- Hours: Flexible \n
- Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour \n
- Type: 1:1 Tuition \n
Requirements
\n- \n
- Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles \n
- Strong knowledge of one or more Humanities subjects \n
- Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions \n
- Experience supporting students with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable \n
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills \n
- Patient, adaptable, and creative approach \n
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one \n
- Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Portsmouth, Southampton, and surrounding areas \n

- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs \n
- ADHD \n
- Anxiety and school avoidance \n
- EHCPs and additional educational needs \n
Your role will focus on helping learners develop confidence, improve engagement, and make progress towards their educational goals.
