Chelmer ward is an acute inpatient female ward with 16 beds, which provides care to female patients aged 18-65. It is situated in the Derwent Centre, Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, West Essex and admits females with a various mental health presentations including psychoses, affective disorders, personality disorders and others. The multidisciplinary team includes a clinical psychologist, occupational therapists, a dietician, nurses, an activity coordinator and healthcare assistants. We have strong relations with other teams in the centre, such as home treatment team, liaison psychiatry team, a male inpatient ward which creates a wonderful and dynamic work environment and supports the team in ensuring continuity of care for our patients after discharge.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will have responsibility for the clinical care of those patients admitted to the in-patient unit on the ward.
