\n Due to a significant increase in secured workload across major defence, infrastructure and commercial projects, our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their pre-construction team.This well-established M&E contractor has developed an outstanding reputation for delivering complex building services projects throughout Scotland. With a strong pipeline of secured projects across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, defence and public sector environments, they are continuing to invest in their pre-construction function and are looking to appoint a talented Electrical Estimator to support future growth.

Your new role

\n


\n As Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for a range of building services projects across Scotland.Working closely with clients, consultants, suppliers and operational teams, you will play a key role in securing profitable new business and ensuring successful project delivery from the outset.

Key responsibilities will include:

\n
    \n
  • Preparing detailed electrical estimates and competitive tender submissions.
  • \n
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • \n
  • Carrying out take-offs and producing accurate cost plans.
  • \n
  • Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • \n
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions.
  • \n
  • Assessing project risks, opportunities and commercial viability.
  • \n
  • Supporting bid submissions and tender presentations.
  • \n
  • Liaising with project delivery teams during project handover.
  • \n
  • Maintaining awareness of market conditions, labour costs and material pricing.
  • \n
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
  • \n

To be considered for this role, you will have:

\n
    \n
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the Building Services sector.
  • \n
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services installations.
  • \n
  • Experience pricing projects across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial or public sector environments.
  • \n
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
  • A recognised Electrical Engineering, Building Services or related qualification.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • \n
  • Experience pricing projects ranging from 500k to 20m+ would be advantageous.
  • \n
\n

Candidates with experience in data centres, renewable energy, defence, healthcare or mission-critical environments are particularly encouraged to apply.
