Financial Accountant

Butler Rose is recruiting a Financial Accountant for a growing, successful business in Exeter. This is a hybrid role offering 2 days in the office and 3 days remote working.

This role offers exposure to a varied workload, working with senior stakeholders and managing the preparation and review of financial reporting, statutory accounts and business-critical financial information. You'll join a collaborative team environment with excellent opportunities for professional development and progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records for a portfolio of entities.
\n
• Review monthly and quarterly management accounts and financial reports.
\n
• Prepare board reporting packs and support senior leadership meetings.
\n
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
\n
• Produce half-year and annual statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
\n
• Liaise with auditors and key internal and external stakeholders.
\n
• Support and mentor junior team members.
\n
• Contribute to process improvements and ad hoc finance projects.
\n

About You

\n
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or finalist.
\n
• At least three years' accounting experience within a commercial or professional environment.
\n
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
\n
• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
\n
• Organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
\n
• A collaborative team player with a positive, solutions-focused approach.
\n
