Job Description
We have an excellent opportunity for a Fabric Engineer to join a market-leading facilities management company at a high-quality commercial site based in Hackney, East London.
\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Fabric Engineer looking to work in a professional environment, become part of an established M&E team, and develop their career within a growing organisation.
\nThe role is site-based, working a standard 37.5-hour Monday to Friday week, with overtime available.
\nFabric Engineer Duties As a Fabric Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site, ensuring the building remains safe, functional and well maintained.
\nDuties:

- Delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks and routine inspections. \n
- Responding to reactive fabric maintenance issues and resolving faults efficiently. \n
- Carrying out daily site walkarounds and identifying defects or maintenance requirements. \n
- Completing general fabric works, including: \n
- Carpentry repairs to doors, hinges, locks, skirting and architraves. \n
- Patch plastering and plasterboard repairs. \n
- Painting and decorating. \n
- Basic plumbing, including tap replacements, minor leaks and unblocking. \n
- Minor electrical fabric support, such as lamp changes and socket faceplate replacements. \n
- Carrying out fire door inspections, adjustments and minor repairs. \n
- Completing minor tiling and flooring repairs. \n
- Carrying out sealant, mastic, gap filling and general aesthetic repairs. \n
- Replacing ceiling tiles and investigating minor leaks within suspended ceilings. \n
- Updating site logbooks and maintenance records. \n
- Liaising with contractors and assisting with contractor management when required. \n
- Supporting the wider M&E maintenance team with general site requirements. \n
- Maintaining a high standard of customer service and presentation throughout the site. \n
Requirements:

- Previous experience working as a Fabric Engineer, Fabric Technician, Maintenance Engineer or Building Fabric Technician within a commercial environment. \n
- Strong all-round building fabric skills. \n
- Good carpentry, basic plumbing and decorating experience. \n
- Experience carrying out minor building repairs and general maintenance. \n
- Knowledge of fire doors and basic compliance requirements would be advantageous. \n
- The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively. \n
- Excellent communication and customer service skills. \n
- A professional approach with strong attention to detail. \n
- The ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently. \n
Salary & Package

- £30,000 – £33,000 per annum \n
- 37.5 hours per week \n
