Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Desktop Support Technician to provide onsite technical support in a dynamic manufacturing and office environment. This role will support end users across both warehouse operations (70%) and office functions (30%), ensuring the reliability and performance of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, scanners, printers, and other business-critical technology. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting manufacturing or warehouse operations and be comfortable working independently to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite desktop support for manufacturing, warehouse, and office employees.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Support warehouse technology, including handheld scanners, mobile computing devices, and label printing solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair desktop hardware, operating systems, software applications, and connectivity issues.
  • Support Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS environments, as well as Microsoft 365 applications and collaboration tools.
  • Maintain and support mobile devices running Apple iOS and Android operating systems.
  • Provide support for label printers, laser printers, multifunction devices, and related print management systems.
  • Assist with computer refresh, deployment, asset management, and equipment lifecycle initiatives.
  • Deliver basic audio-visual support for conference rooms and meeting spaces.
  • Document incidents, service requests, resolutions, and support procedures.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures to minimize recurring issues.
  • Adhere to IT security standards, change management processes, and operational controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and global IT support organizations to resolve technical issues and improve service delivery.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to users of varying technical skill levels.
Required Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience providing desktop, technical, or IT support in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or corporate environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting:
    • Microsoft Windows operating systems
    • Apple macOS
    • Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications
    • Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Visio
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing PC hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Experience supporting handheld scanners and warehouse technology.
  • Experience supporting label printers, laser printers, and multifunction printers.
  • Working knowledge of mobile device operating systems, including Apple iOS and Android.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems, asset management, and endpoint support processes.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution center operations.
  • Experience with desktop and laptop deployment projects, including computer refresh initiatives.
  • Knowledge of IT service management practices, change management, and operational excellence methodologies.
  • Familiarity with warehouse mobility solutions and barcode scanning technologies.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed or global IT teams.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has experience supporting both manufacturing/warehouse and office environments, with a strong background in troubleshooting desktops, laptops, handheld scanners, and label printing equipment. They are customer-focused, technically skilled, and comfortable working directly on the production floor to support critical business operations while also providing traditional desktop support for office users.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
