Real Estate Paralegal
Job Description
Duties
Under the supervision of a state-licensed attorney, prepare real estate closing transaction documents such as: deeds, mortgages, powers of attorney, settlement statements, etc.
Assist in the disbursement of funds to parties and vendors as appropriate
Communicate regularly with parties and other professionals and vendors via phone, email, and other communication software portals
Obtain a Notary Public designation and act in that role during real estate transactions and otherwise as needed to provide legal services to clients
Schedule appointments
Record documents in the county land records
Perform general clerical tasks, such as photocopying, and filing
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Real Estate Paralegal for South Carolina transactions is required
Proficient in organization and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Qualia file management system is a plus
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is key
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
