Position Overview:
- Local contract, 13-week duration
- Utilizes CPSI, Evident System for CPOE, and Pyxis automated dispensing
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical interventions and monitor medication therapies effectively
- Provide drug information and counsel patients and healthcare teams
- Participate in clinical programs and therapeutic monitoring, including renal dosing adjustments
- Verify medication orders and supervise preparation, compounding, and dispensing processes
- Organize and direct ancillary staff workflow, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Maintain compliance with California Board of Pharmacy, DEA, and FDA regulations
- Attend to code blue situations when on duty
- Document clinical interventions and monitoring outcomes accurately
Qualifications and Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
- Active California Pharmacist License (mandatory)
- Minimum one year pharmacy experience
- Proficient with automated dispensing units, IV laminar flow hood, and electronic health record systems
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills; additional language skills such as Spanish are beneficial
- Experience with CPSI or Evident system and Pyxis preferred
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Code blue response experience is a plus
