Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An Interim Pharmacy Operations Manager position is available at a 250-bed hospital in Northern California, starting ASAP for a 3 to 6 month assignment. This role is ideal for a seasoned pharmacy leader experienced in managing comprehensive pharmaceutical services within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of pharmaceutical care delivery, ensuring clinical, financial, administrative, and information system functions run smoothly
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and control pharmacy workflow to meet organizational goals
  • Hire, train, and supervise pharmacy staff to maintain high standards of practice and performance
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacy management, hospital personnel, and physicians to facilitate coordination and quality patient care
  • Maintain strict compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Utilize hospital and community resources to address operational needs and improve service delivery
  • Act as the Director of Pharmacy in their absence, providing leadership continuity

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience within pharmacy operations, preferably in a hospital environment
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy clinical services, regulatory requirements, and operational management
  • Ability to manage staff recruitment, training, and performance
