Cardiac Sonographer (Travel)

Shift

  • 10-hour Day Shift (40 hours/week)
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Interview Process

  • Clinical interview required
  • Offer subject to manager approval
Call & Scheduling
  • On-Call: 1 night call shift per week until 7:00 AM the following morning (typically a weekday, may include weekends)
  • Call Back: Cardiologist approval required; call backs are infrequent
  • Weekend Rotation: Not required
  • Holiday Requirements: Call coverage only on major holidays; may be on call for up to 50% of holidays during the contract
  • Schedule: Modified self-scheduling with manager approval; schedules created in 6-week increments
  • RTO: Up to 7 days may be approved
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care echocardiography experience
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS
    • RDCS or ARDMS (RCS/RDCS accepted as applicable)
Patient Population
  • Pediatric and adult patients
  • Inpatient and outpatient
  • Structural heart program support
Common Cases
  • CHF
  • Pre/Post Cardiac Cath
  • Pre/Post CABG
  • Pre/Post Watchman
  • Pre/Post TAVR
  • PFO evaluations
  • Bubble studies
  • Aortic stenosis
  • Mitral regurgitation
  • Stroke patients
  • Emergency patients
  • Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE)
  • Stress echocardiograms
Required Skills
  • Perform pediatric echocardiograms (required)
  • Experience with the patient populations and procedures listed above
  • Assist with pericardiocentesis and other cardiac procedures
  • Accurately calculate and measure ejection fraction (EF)
  • Document preliminary findings in a modifiable report for physician review
Preferred Skills
  • Fetal echocardiography experience
  • Stress echocardiography experience
  • Experience orienting or mentoring new staff
