Quality Assurance Officer

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid / Occasional International Travel)

Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000 + Benefits

Our client, a growing industrial solutions provider, is seeking a organized and analytical Quality Assurance Officer to own the day-to-day administration of their Quality Management System (QMS). Working directly with the Global Quality Manager, you will serve as the operational hub for complaint resolution, audit readiness, ISO compliance, and quality reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CAPA & Complaints: Manage customer complaints end-to-end, execute root-cause analysis (8D reports), verify preventive actions with clients, and analyze complaint trends to prevent recurring issues.

  • QMS & Document Control: Maintain procedures, work instructions, and records in alignment with ISO 9001 standards.

  • Audits & Compliance: Coordinate and prepare evidence for internal, supplier, and customer audits. Participate in audit sessions and maintain audit tracking records (occasional travel required).

  • Vendor & Customer Support: Complete quality questionnaires, compliance declarations, and vendor qualification paperwork.

  • KPI Dashboards: Build and maintain quality dashboards, consolidating reporting and preparing materials for monthly leadership meetings.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in quality assurance, QMS administration, or document control within manufacturing, distribution, or hardware.

  • Practical knowledge of ISO 9001, CAPA processes, and 8D root-cause problem-solving.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and building KPI dashboards (Excel, Power BI, or similar).

  • Competent communication skills to liaise with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

1. Customer Complaints & CAPA (Corrective Action)

  • Resolve Issues: Implement and verify preventive actions for customer complaints logged by Inside Sales before closing them.

  • Root-Cause Analysis: Conduct root-cause investigations and author 8D reports.

  • Trend Analysis: Analyze the complaints dashboard to spot recurring issues and proactively define preventive steps.

2. Quality Systems & ISO Compliance (QMS)

  • Document Control: Maintain QMS documentation, procedures, and versioning to support standards like ISO 9001.

  • Records Management: Maintain compliance, training, and incoming/outgoing goods inspection records.

  • Compliance Documentation: Complete supplier/customer questionnaires, ISO certificates, and compliance declarations.

3. Audits & Supplier Management

  • Audit Preparation: Coordinate scheduling, evidence, and records for internal, customer, and supplier quality audits.

  • Audit Participation: Attend supplier and customer audits, including occasional international travel.

  • Supplier Tracking: Manage supplier quality assessments and qualification records.

4. Reporting & Administration

  • KPI Dashboards: Build, maintain, and analyze quality KPI dashboards across all metrics.

  • Cross-Department Support: Collaborate with Supply Chain and Product Management to execute quality actions, and prepare materials for monthly quality meetings.
