Job Description

We are seeking a qualified School Psychologist for a 10-month school-year contract in Columbia, South Carolina. The School Psychologist will provide comprehensive psychological services that support students' academic, behavioral, emotional, and social development. Working collaboratively with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams, the School Psychologist will conduct evaluations, participate in IEP meetings, develop intervention plans, and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations for students referred for special education services.
  • Interpret assessment results and prepare comprehensive psychological reports.
  • Participate in eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers.
  • Develop intervention strategies to support students' academic, behavioral, and emotional needs.
  • Provide behavioral consultation and crisis intervention when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and South Carolina Department of Education requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and recommend ongoing services and supports.
  • Promote positive learning environments and student success.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's, Ed.S., or Doctoral Degree in School Psychology
  • Active South Carolina Department of Education (SC DOE) School Psychologist Certification/Licensure
  • Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education regulations
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and report-writing skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous school-based experience
  • Experience participating in IEP meetings
  • Behavioral intervention and consultation experience
